Suitable for products that emphasize an integrated surface

Cabinet doors, desktops, drawer fronts, and shaped components can enter suitability evaluation where the design aims to reduce conventional edge-band lines and coordinate the front, back, edges, and reachable profiles.

Radii, curves, grooves, and integrated pulls may also use powder coating to create a surface language different from flat laminated construction.

More suitable for projects with a defined production plan

The process requires drawing review, representative sampling, small-batch validation, and quality-standard confirmation. Projects with stable product ranges, reasonable order scale, and long-term supply planning can more readily justify this development and validation effort.

If the product is not finalized, colors change frequently, quantities are extremely small, or the schedule does not allow validation, another more flexible finishing route may be more appropriate.

Not automatically suitable for unvalidated materials or environments

Not every solid wood, composite board, bonded construction, or recycled material can be assumed to be suitable. Outdoor exposure, long-term immersion, extreme heat sources, unusual chemical environments, or special regulatory requirements also cannot be inferred from an ordinary indoor sample.

When materials or use conditions move outside a validated range, they should be reassessed. If evidence is insufficient, the supplier should decline the application or recommend another approach rather than overstate capability.

Not ideal when the comparison is only the lowest unit price

The technology may create value through design differentiation, fewer surface-material interfaces, coordinated component surfaces, and repeatable delivery. A purchasing comparison based only on one square-meter price may miss machining, rework, packaging, and product-value effects.

The first question should be why the product needs to change. Without a clear product problem or objective, there is no reason to add complexity simply because a new process is available.
